Press Information for School Performances
Faye Stanley brings an energetic commitment to her work to support teaching the whole child, and classrooms that work for students and teachers alike. She combines her many years of work as a teacher, folklorist, educational consultant, performer and musician, to approach how we might best use the varied strengths and intelligences of our students and ourselves, bringing diversity to the forefront of our teaching practice. Her work is always active and invigorating, modeling a non-traditional, highly collaborative approach to classroom objectives.
Faye holds a Bachelors in Music Therapy and Education from East Carolina University and a Masters in Education in Integrated Studies from Goddard College. She is particularly interested in issues of diversity, having written and worked extensively on the use of cultural arts as a lens through which to view history and culture, and explore other aspects of the curriculum. Curriculum design is core to her work, and she continues to create materials for educators to support this integrated, project-based approach to education. She has facilitated hundreds of professional development workshops and seminars for whole school faculties and educators nationally over the last eight years, as well as supporting school districts in the creation and implementation of innovative new initiatives.
Faye is passionate about cultivating an approach to education that values the gifts that each of us, educators and students, bring to our work together. The empowerment of each of us to do our best, most creative work, is a goal worthy of our time and effort!
